With the release of XenDesktop 7.12 the FMA architecture attempts (fairly successfully) to bring back the LHC functionality that was available in the IMA architecture. The original release of XenDesktop required the Site Database to be “always available”. If the database was unavailable then the XenDesktop site was essentially down. The introduction of XenDesktop 7.6 provided a feature called “Connection Leasing” that provided some functionality in the event that the Site Database was unavailable. Improving on “Connection Leasing” Citrix have now re introduced the “Local Host Cache” functionality from previous XenApp versions.
How The Local Host Cache Works

Requirements & Limitations

- Available resources on Delivery Controllers to support the LHC functionality
- Pooled VDI resources are not supported!
